Our Tailoring Project
The Sierra Leone Youth initiative (SLYI ) is een stichting opgericht door de Sierra Leoons-Nederlandse Abubakarr Bangura (link, zie page 7) en is officieel geregistreerd bij de Kamer van Koophandel onder nummer 18078202.
De stichting stelt zichzelf het doel om de zelfredzaamheid van Sierra Leoonse kinderen en jongeren te stimuleren door hen de gelegenheid te geven een vak te leren en ondernemerschap onder hen te stimuleren. Op deze wijze kunnen zij zich actief inzetten en meedoen in de maatschappelijke ontwikkeling. Hierbij werkt de stichting mee aan het behalen van de Sustainable Development Goals van Verenigde Naties (SDG’s 1,2,8 en 17) in Sierra Leone.

In Nederland
In Nederland geeft de stichting voorlichting aan scholen en benadert fondsen om projecten in Sierra Leone te financieren. De stichting krijgt ook financiële ondersteuning van de Gemeente Tilburg voor projecten in Sierra Leone.
Het bestuur van de stichting bestaat uit de volgende personen:
a. Abubakarr Bangura., oprichter en voorzitter
b. Ellen van Tuijl, secretaris
b. Foday Sankoh, penningmeester
In Sierra Leone werkt de stichting samen met SEP Investment Service (website), een sociale onderneming, om het werk van de stichting in Sierra Leone vorm te geven en te verduurzamen.

With seven floors of striking architecture, UMoMA shows exhibitions of international contemporary art, sometimes along with art historical retrospectives. Existential, political and philosophical issues are intrinsic to our programme. As visitor you are invited to guided tours artist talks, lectures, film screenings and other events with free admission
The exhibitions are produced by UMoMA in collaboration with artists and museums around the world and they often attract international attention. UMoMA has received a Special Commendation from the European Museum of the Year, and was among the top candidates for the Swedish Museum of the Year Award as well as for the Council of Europe Museum Prize.
